Accu-Tell® Human Monkeypox Virus Rapid Tests

A multi-country outbreak of monkeypox is currently underway in Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Western Pacific, and countries of the Eastern Mediterranean. More cases than normal have been reported in 2022 in parts of Africa.

WHO declared on 23 July 2022 that the multi-country outbreak of monkeypox is a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC), which constitutes the highest level of global public health alert under the International Health Regulations.

Although Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) is the preferred laboratory test, it is not available anywhere and anytime. Recently, we developed the following Accu-Tell^® Human Monkeypox Virus Rapid Tests as an aid in the diagnosis of Monkeypox Virus infections:

• Accu-Tell^® Human Monkeypox Virus Antigen Rapid Test for pus swab samples;
• Accu-Tell^® Human Monkeypox Virus Antigen Rapid Test for lesion exudate/ oropharyngeal swab samples;
