Effectiveness of Accu-Tell® SARS-CoV-2 Ag Rapid Tests in detecting Omicron viruses

These days, Omicron continues to sweep the world. It is a highly divergent variant with a high number of mutations, including 26-32 mutations in the spike protein, some of which are associated with humoral immune escape potential and higher transmissibility. Based on the currently available evidence, the overall risk related to Omicron remains very high.

Regarding the effectiveness of our Accu-Tell^® SARS-CoV-2 Ag Rapid Tests in detecting Omicron viruses, we would like to tell you the following updated study results:

1. The mutation site of the N protein of this variant does not fall in the epitope region recognized by our product, so it does not affect the performance of our product in theory.

2. We conducted the experiments with Omicron (B.1.1.529) N protein recombinant antigen, which was gradient diluted with buffer solution. The dilution of each concentration was tested by our Accu-Tell^® SARS-CoV-2 Ag Rapid Tests. The test results show that the minimum detection limit of Omicron  (B.1.1.529) N protein recombinant antigen was 12.08pg/ml.

3. We conducted the experiments with specimens which contains SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant. The test results show that SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant is detectable by our Accu-Tell^®SARS-CoV-2 Ag Rapid Tests.

These are the study results at the current stage. We have been devoted to the continuous attention to the ability of our Accu-Tell^® SARS-CoV-2 Ag Rapid Tests to detect the SARS-CoV-2 variants and we will keep you updated about it.
